Empowering Enterprises. Transforming Grassroots Economies.
The Bauchi State Small and Medium Enterprise Council (SMEC) was constituted to serve as the apex multi-stakeholder body coordinating all public and private sector policies, interventions, and regulatory interactions affecting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Bauchi State.
Recognising that informal and small businesses generate over 85% of total employment across the state's 20 Local Government Areas, the Council bridges the gap between state ministries, federal regulatory agencies (such as CAC, SMEDAN, NAFDAC, and SON), financial institutions, and organised private sector bodies like BACCIMA and cooperative federations.
Through strategic policy formulation, business formalisation drives, cluster workspace development, and simplified tax harmonization, the Council works to create an enabling operating environment where every entrepreneur in Bauchi can thrive sustainably.
Statewide Reach
Active outreach, mobile clinics, and enumeration mapping across all 20 LGAs.
Harmonised Regulatory Desk
Eliminating duplicate levies, arbitrary roadside fees, and registration hurdles.
