In line with the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to fostering a resilient and supportive environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises, the Bauchi State Small and Medium Enterprise Council (SMEC) held a landmark consultative meeting at the State Secretariat complex.
The session brought together delegates from the Corporate Affairs Commission, the Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service, financial institutions, and organized private sector associations. The primary focus of the deliberations was the creation of a harmonised, single-window identification system that prevents duplicative levies and offers registered businesses verified institutional credentials.
Council Chairperson reiterated that MSMEs account for over 85% of employment across the 20 Local Government Areas, affirming that council initiatives will aggressively tackle obstacles to business growth, starting with mobile formalisation clinics in central markets.
